Most developers build from a template and call it custom. I build from a blank canvas - the same way I approach a mix in the studio. Every element earns its place. That means I don't think in templates.
I think in outcomes. What does the visitor need to feel? Where do they need to look? What makes them click instead of bounce? I've been answering those questions for two decades in sales and over a decade behind a mixing console. The medium changed. The instincts didn't.
